DVRT
(Domestic Violence Response Team)

Among the specialized services of the Outreach Program are the Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) and the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). Professionally trained staff and volunteers make up the Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Crisis Center ’s Outreach Team.

Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Crisis Center’s DVRT is made up of confidential volunteer advocates who respond to police stations when a victim of domestic violence is brought there after reporting a domestic violence incident. Currently DVRT advocates respond to both State Police Barracks and the Mansfield Township police department in Warren County. Our team leader is in the process of reaching out to local police stations to expand our services. DVRT advocates meet with victims to provide crisis intervention, support, and information referrals.

The Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Crisis Center also has confidential advocates available to respond to hospitals to talk to victims of domestic violence who request advocacy or counseling services. Our legal advocates are available to accompany victims to court for temporary and final restraining orders. In addition, our legal advocates may accompany victims to other types of hearings that have resulted from domestic violence.

If you want to speak to an advocate just ask for one.
